Welcome to the Magical Forge TCG! In this Rule Book, you will find
every rule as of the first set, Rising Forge. Lets get started with
some basic rules, demonstrated in a sample turn.
A) On your turn, you draw 3 cards from your Deck. The Deck cannot
have any Spell cards in it, so the Deck will only contain Forge cards
and Creature cards. After you draw, draw cards from the Spell Deck
equal to the number of Creature cards you drew. Creature cards
will say “Creature” on them, so you can tell them apart from “Forge”
and “Spell” cards.
B) On your turn, you may play any number of Creature cards form your
hand onto your field. Then, you may attach Spell cards from your hand
to any of your Creatures in play. Please note that you may only
attach Spell cards to your creatures for every creature you have in -
play (IE. if you have 2 creatures in play, you may only attach 2 Spell
cards to them in any way you like). Spells attached to creatures are
not “In Play,” and Spells can only activate when in - play. Each Spell
on a Creature counts as 1 Health for that Creature. If a creature has
no Spells attached to it, it is destroyed and sent to the discard pile.
There is one exception to this rule: a Creature who was put into play
may have no Spells the first turn it is in play. It is discarded at the
end of the turn if it still has no Spells on it.
Now that you have Creature cards on your field with spells on
them, you may attack your opponent’s Life Force directly.
Each player has 15 Life Points, which together make up your Life
Force. You win if you opponent has 0 Life Points while you have any
Life Points left.
You win if your opponent has no Life Points left while you have any
Life Points left. Each Spell on an Attacking Creature counts for 1 Life Point
lost. Your opponent may choose to block the Attack. If they do, both the
Attacking Creature and the Blocking Creature put 1 Spell attached to
them into play. The Spells are no longer attached to the Creature and
are put into the center of the field. In play Spell cards activate if
they are triggered while in play. The Attacking Creature’s Spell activates
first if the Spell activates when it is put into play. The trigger for all Spell
cards will be printed on the card. Spell cards that have activated and
resolved are placed in a special Spell discard pile, which is recycled into
the Spell deckwhen there are no more Spell cards in the Spell deck. Each Creature
card may attack only once per turn.
D) Forge cards and Responses:
Forge cards may only be played on your turn, and Spell cards only
Activate when they are triggered while in play. What if you want
To trigger an effect on your opponent’s turn, or activate an
Effect before another effect resolves?
Enter the Response Rule! This rule says that you may activate
An effect at any time before another effect resolves. You
May play a Forge card on your turn to respond to another
Creature Ability, Spell, or Weapon card. You may also
Respond to an effect by triggering a Creature Ability
Or Weapon card! The effect triggered last ALWAYS
Resolves before any other in play effects resolve.
Example:
-
It is Johnny’s turn. Johnny activates (plays from
Hand) a Forge card to allow him to put a Multiple type
Creature from his discard pile into his hand
-
Sarah knows that allowing this effect to
Resolve would give Johnny the upper hand
In attacking, because he would have more Creatures
Than her, so she activates an “Orarus, the
Unknown Light” Ability in response.
“Orarus’” Ability would resolve before
Johnny’s Forge card since it was activated
After the Forge card was played.
Deck Building Rules:
The Deck is a standard 30 card deck, which is composed of Forge Cards, Creatures Cards, and Weapon Cards (there are no Weapon Cards in Set 1: Rising Forge). You may have 3 copies of each Creature, Forge Card, or Weapon Card in the Deck. You may not exceed 30 cards in the Deck.
The Spell Deck must be at least 30 cards, but there is no limit to the
number of cards in the Spell Deck. You may only have Spell Cards in
the Spell Deck. Only 3 copies of each Spell Card are allowed in the
Spell Deck .
